Chief Financial Officer

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer will join the executive leadership team of a leading Maltese company operating across distribution, retail and consumer products. Reporting to the Managing Director and the Board, the CFO will provide strategic financial leadership, governance oversight and insight to drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Managing Director and senior team to define and execute strategic objectives.
• Lead financial modelling, scenario analysis and budgeting to support key business decisions.
• Prepare and present financial reports, cash‑flow forecasts and performance metrics to the Board and committees.
• Oversee internal controls, governance frameworks and compliance with financial, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the finance function, including reporting cycles, credit control, payroll and bookkeeping.
• Drive cash‑flow optimisation and capital allocation to sustain liquidity and growth.
• Build and lead a high‑performing finance team and foster strong relationships with senior management and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior finance leadership, preferably within distribution, retail or consumer‑products environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with boards, auditors and regulators.
• Excellent governance and risk‑management mindset.
