Assistant Operations Manager

About the role

The Assistant Operations Manager supports the Director of Operations in overseeing the day‑to‑day activities of English Path Malta. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures that operational services run smoothly, student experience remains high, and staff are effectively coordinated.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Operations by coordinating, monitoring and supervising daily school activities to guarantee seamless service delivery.
• Help roll out new systems, operational initiatives and standard operating procedures, while tracking performance metrics and providing actionable insights.
• Act as the escalation point for complex student queries and complaints, championing a high‑quality student journey and implementing improvements based on feedback.
• Manage staff rotas, daily scheduling, attendance and workload distribution to meet dynamic operational demands.
• Lead onboarding and induction for new operational employees, communicating guidelines and fostering a collaborative team culture.
• Oversee facilities upkeep, liaising with landlords, maintenance contractors and equipment vendors to ensure prompt repairs and high standards.
• Enforce health, safety and security procedures, organise emergency drills and maintain compliance logs.
• Manage vendor relationships, monitor service‑level agreements, evaluate quotations and support procurement of school supplies.

• Strong problem‑solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, vendors and senior leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑growing, international education environment.
