Technician II – Maintenance & Installation

About the role

Crane Currency is seeking a Technician II to join its Malta facility. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing and commissioning production equipment in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and preventive maintenance on plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Install, commission and adapt new production and plant machinery in collaboration with suppliers.
• Overhaul systems or components, identify and order spare parts, and supervise external contractors.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and update the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) after each intervention.
• Prepare work dockets and associated paperwork, and ensure compliance with shift and overtime requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Mechatronics Technician with a recognized diploma (e.g., MCAST‑BTec Higher National Diploma or equivalent).
• License A&B qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing or industrial role.
• Ability to work shifts, overtime and supervise contractors with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
• Understanding of micro‑processor controllers and IT literacy.
• Familiarity with CMMS, TPM and Lean Manufacturing principles.
