Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our Direct Tax team in Malta. The role involves leading tax‑planning initiatives, advising on complex transactions and supporting both international and local clients with a range of tax services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement tax‑planning strategies to optimise clients’ tax liabilities.
• Provide tax advice on corporate restructurings, financing, M&A, cross‑border investments and other transactions.
• Prepare corporate tax returns, tax refund applications and support tax compliance activities.
• Assist in tax audits, liaise with tax authorities and deliver technical training to accounting and audit teams.
• Monitor direct tax developments locally and internationally and identify growth opportunities for the unit.

Required profile

• Strong ability to work against deadlines and deliver high‑quality work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Maltese; a third language is a plus.
• Pro‑active, able to work independently and as part of a team, building lasting client relationships.

Required skills

• ACC​A qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a CSP environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of Maltese tax legislation and accounting standards.
• Hands‑on experience with tax planning, compliance, audit liaison and corporate tax return preparation.
