Support Worker

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Support Worker to join our LinC Programme, helping individuals with disabilities engage in daily activities and therapeutic programmes. The role focuses on promoting independence, confidence and active participation across a range of settings including classroom, pool, animal interaction and vocational training.

Key responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living tasks such as feeding, hygiene, toileting and transitions.
• Support participation in animal interaction and therapeutic horseback riding sessions.
• Supervise pool activities under the guidance of instructors or therapists.
• Facilitate multisensory room activities and vocational training as directed.
• Transport individuals safely according to programme requirements.
• Implement Behaviour Support Plans, Risk Assessments and Sensory Profiles.
• Follow therapists’ and tutors’ recommendations to achieve SMART goals.
• Research and develop creative approaches to deliver sessions tailored to each individual or group.
• Assist tutors and therapists in delivering small‑group sessions.
• Maintain continuous professional development through self‑initiative and provided training.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification at MQF Level 3 or higher (minimum 60 ECTS/ECVET) in health and social care.
• Previous experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with challenging behaviour.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to meet the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act and immunisation standards.

Required skills

• Strong communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of behaviour support, risk assessment and sensory profiling.
• Ability to follow therapeutic and educational plans.
