Senior IT Administrator

About the role

Catena Media is looking for an experienced Senior IT Administrator to run day-to-day IT operations for its Malta office and to help automate how IT services are delivered. The role combines hands-on IT administration and service desk work with a strong focus on AI and automation, using automation platforms, scripting and AI assistants to cut down repetitive manual work.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and improve the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management), including workflows, permissions, schemes and automation rules
• Design and maintain automations that remove repetitive IT tasks, using automation platforms, scripting, APIs and native Atlassian automation
• Be the main escalation point and expert for Atlassian issues and enhancements
• Manage Windows and Mac devices via Intune and Jamf, covering performance, security and reliability
• Oversee asset management and the full device lifecycle, from procurement to decommissioning
• Manage identity and access through Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, including provisioning, SSO, MFA, conditional access and group policy
• Handle system access, patching and endpoint security in line with policy and compliance
• Provide high-quality IT service desk support, monitor SLAs and drive continuous improvement
• Evaluate and roll out AI tools such as AI assistants, agents and AI-assisted ticket triage
• Build integrations between IT and business systems and measure the impact of automation and AI initiatives
• Maintain clear documentation of systems, workflows and configurations

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in IT operations, including administration and support of the Atlassian suite
• Hands-on experience with Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID
• Solid experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, Jamf, identity and access management and SaaS administration
• Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence and Jira Service Management
• Proven troubleshooting skills across hardware, software and networking, and experience supporting end users in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; self-motivated team player with good written and verbal communication
• Experience with AI tools in a work context and with building agentic or LLM-based workflows is a plus
