Senior Accountant

About the role

CapServices Limited is seeking an experienced, commercially‑minded Senior Accountant to manage a portfolio of local and international clients, mentor junior staff and support senior management as the accounting function grows.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and own a portfolio of clients across various industries, acting as the primary accounting contact.
• Prepare and review management accounts, annual financial statements, VAT returns, income‑tax computations and other statutory filings.
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, banks and regulatory authorities.
• Review and coach junior accountants, providing technical guidance and training.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery.

Required profile

• Warranted CPA with ACCA/MIA qualification or equivalent (B.Comm Accountancy).
• Minimum five years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a Corporate Service Provider environment.
• Strong knowledge of Maltese VAT and Income Tax legislation.
• Proven ability to manage a client portfolio independently and mentor junior team members.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills with a client‑focused approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Xero accounting software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
