Project Manager - Engineering Projects

About the role

Baxter is looking for a Project Manager to act as the strategic and technical leader behind its engineering projects. The role guides cross-functional teams from identifying opportunities and building business cases through planning, execution and implementation. It is based in Malta, supporting manufacturing sites across EMEA and APAC, and covers product design, material changes and cost optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and influence cross-functional teams across several locations without direct reporting authority.
• Define milestones with technical teams to meet launch dates and flag issues and risks during planning and execution.
• Evaluate cost-optimization opportunities across materials, components and processes, focusing on insourcing, alternate sourcing and value engineering.
• Maintain accurate project schedules and drive execution with the core team and technical support groups.
• Support change-control processes, validation activities and implementation planning.
• Work with Procurement, R&D, Quality, Operations and suppliers to implement cost improvements while keeping product performance, regulatory compliance and supply continuity.
• Communicate project risks and conflicts, develop mitigation plans and lead proactive risk responses.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (mechanical, materials, plastics, chemicals, packaging, manufacturing or related).
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a matrix organization.
• Medical device, MedTech or pharmaceutical industry experience is a strong asset; regulated industries such as medical, pharma and automotive are preferred.
• Willingness to travel internationally about 10% of the time.

What we offer

• Minimum salary of EUR 36,000 per year, with possible higher pay depending on skills and experience.
