Petroleum Cargo Inspector

About the role

Bureau Veritas Malta Oil and Petrochemicals is recruiting full‑time inspectors for the oil & petrochemical industry. The role requires flexibility, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn a variety of operations in a challenging environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct measurement and sampling of petroleum products stored in cargo tanks of ocean‑going tankers.
• Supervise the transfer of oil between vessels or from vessel to shore terminals.
• Oversee loss‑control procedures and supervise bulk oil cargo transfer operations.
• Prepare detailed reports for all tasks performed.

Required profile

• Seafaring experience in the merchant marine or previous petroleum inspection experience is preferred.
• Strong command of the English language.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets/Microsoft Excel and overall computer literacy.
• Satisfactory knowledge of mathematics and physics.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, irregular days, nights, weekends and offshore.
• Valid clean driving licence and full compliance with health‑and‑safety standards.
