Lift Technician

About the role

A highly motivated and skilled Lift Technician is sought to join the technical services team in Malta. The role covers the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of elevators, escalators and related vertical transportation systems, with a focus on safety, reliability and client service.

Key responsibilities

• Service, inspect and maintain elevators and escalators in line with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Assist with electrical and mechanical installations, system adjustments and equipment alignment.
• Test, commission and certify hydraulic and traction elevators and escalator systems.
• Detect faults, troubleshoot, repair and replace components.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Upgrade components, controllers and software when needed.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and service requests, and investigate client issues with supervisors.
• Maintain service reports, maintenance logs and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in lift, escalator or vertical transportation maintenance and repair preferred.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and traction elevator systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and service manuals.
• Good problem-solving, communication and customer service skills; able to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Preventive maintenance procedures and safety standards.
• Ability to diagnose faults and perform repairs on lift and escalator equipment.
