Kitchen Technician – Maintenance Team

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Kitchen Technician to join the Maintenance team of db Hotels & Resorts. The role involves maintaining and repairing kitchen equipment across our 4‑star superior all‑inclusive resorts in Malta, ensuring safe and uninterrupted food‑and‑beverage operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, servicing and repair of ovens, grills, fryers, dishwashers, refrigeration units and extraction systems.
• Diagnose and fix faults on gas, electrical and mechanical kitchen equipment promptly.
• Respond to breakdowns reported by kitchen staff, minimizing disruption during service periods.
• Carry out regular inspections to identify potential issues before they affect operations.
• Maintain records of maintenance work, service schedules and equipment condition.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialised servicing or parts when required.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety and food‑hygiene regulations.
• Support the wider Maintenance team with general technical and preventive tasks across the property.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Kitchen Technician, Catering Equipment Engineer or similar role in a hotel, restaurant or large‑scale catering environment.
• Relevant technical qualification in mechanical, electrical or gas systems is an asset.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and during peak service times.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and be available for emergency call‑outs.
• Basic English communication skills.
