Junior Node.js Backend Developer

About the role

Bullfinch is looking for a Junior Backend Developer with experience in Node.js, PHP and Go (Golang) to join its development team. You will develop, maintain and enhance backend applications so that they are secure, scalable and high-performing, working closely with the wider team to deliver robust software while growing your technical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and support backend applications using Node.js, PHP and Go (Golang)
• Write clean, efficient and well-tested code following established standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve application defects
• Improve existing systems by analysing business requirements and spotting improvement opportunities
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and test plans
• Monitor system performance and provide ongoing application support
• Help implement new features and technologies, take part in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement

Required profile

• Degree or certification in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Commercial or junior-level development experience with Node.js
• Good written and spoken English
• Positive, proactive attitude, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and excellent communication skills
• Able to work independently and collaboratively, flexible in a fast-paced environment
