Housekeeping Operations Manager – New Hotel Opening

About the role

Ruby is launching a brand‑new 88‑room boutique hotel in Valletta and is looking for a dynamic Housekeeping Operations Manager to lead the housekeeping function from day one. You will oversee both internal staff and external cleaning partners, ensuring every guest space meets Ruby’s high standards of cleanliness and style.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the housekeeping team, including internal employees and external cleaning companies.
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas daily to guarantee compliance with Ruby’s quality standards.
• Manage procurement, orders, delivery bills and service checks while staying within the allocated housekeeping budget.
• Communicate regularly with the hotel maintenance team to schedule upkeep and repair tasks.
• Collaborate closely with the Rooms Division office at Ruby’s corporate headquarters in Munich.
• Oversee plants, floral arrangements and seasonal decorations throughout the property.
• Handle lost‑and‑found items, ensuring timely return to guests.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar housekeeping management role, preferably in a lifestyle or boutique hotel.
• Proven ability to work effectively with external service providers.
• Strong passion for cleanliness, attention to detail and an eco‑conscious mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, assertiveness and flexibility under pressure.
• Confident, upbeat personality with a sense of humor that contributes to a positive workplace.
• Comfortable interacting with international guests and responding to diverse needs.
