About the role

The Head Butler leads the Butler team aboard MSC Cruises, ensuring every MSC Yacht Club guest receives personalized, anticipatory service that exceeds expectations. This senior position combines leadership, guest‑focused service, and operational oversight on a luxury cruise environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily Butler operations, providing on‑the‑spot training and coaching.
• Anticipate guest routines and needs, greeting guests on arrival and assisting with cabin settlement.
• Oversee all guest services including bookings, packing/unpacking, laundry delivery, cabin decoration, and concierge‑type assistance.
• Accompany guests on excursions when requested and ensure seamless service throughout their stay.
• Monitor compliance with MSC Cruises Butler standards and Standard Procedures in Suite and VIP areas.

Required profile

• Fluent oral and written English; additional European languages (Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish, French) are a plus.
• Diploma or degree from an internationally certified hotel school.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar senior role within luxury hotels or resorts; cruise ship experience is advantageous.
• Strong customer care, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• STCW95 certification (basic fire fighting, personal survival techniques, elementary first aid, personal security and social responsibility) is compulsory.
• Valid medical certification and passport; seaman book preferred.
