General Manager – Luxury Hospitality

About the role

As the senior hospitality leader onboard, the General Manager is the ambassador of the Explora Journeys guest and host experience. Reporting to senior leadership, you will translate the Ocean State of Mind vision into measurable operational, financial and guest‑experience outcomes, ensuring seamless alignment between shipboard execution and shoreside strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visible, inspiring, hands‑on leadership across all Hotel Operations departments.
• Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Lead, coach, mentor and develop a multicultural management team to achieve exceptional results.
• Drive employee engagement, talent development, succession planning and leadership growth.
• Oversee brand delivery, operational excellence and commercial performance onboard.
• Champion world‑class, intuitive and highly personalized luxury hospitality throughout every stage of the guest journey.
• Drive guest satisfaction, loyalty, retention and Net Promoter Score objectives.
• Resolve complex guest concerns with professionalism, empathy and sound judgment.
• Identify and act on opportunities to elevate the guest experience and exceed expectations.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in luxury hospitality or cruise ship hotel operations.
• Proven track record of delivering financial and guest‑experience results.
• Strong multicultural team management and development capabilities.
• Ability to act as a brand ambassador and build meaningful relationships with high‑net‑worth guests.
• Excellent judgment and problem‑solving skills under commercial constraints.
