Compliance Analyst – Risk & Governance

About the role

The Compliance Analyst will support a well‑established legal firm in Malta by monitoring regulatory requirements, developing policies, and raising compliance awareness. You will work closely with the Head of Governance, Risk & Compliance to ensure the business meets all applicable laws and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with the Company Service Providers Act, Trusts and Trustees Act, AML/CFT legislation and MFSA requirements.
• Conduct horizon scanning of regulatory developments and brief senior management.
• Perform compliance reviews, file testing and control assessments as part of the Compliance Monitoring Programme.
• Recommend updates to the Risk Register and maintain compliance registers, logs and remediation plans.
• Assist in drafting and updating compliance policies and procedures.
• Contribute to AML/CFT training and awareness initiatives.
• Support preparation of regulatory returns, board reports and ad‑hoc compliance projects.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of the Company Service Providers Act, Trusts and Trustees Act and AML/CFT legislation.
• Understanding of compliance monitoring, file testing, control assessments and remediation tracking.
• Strong analytical ability to identify risks and recommend practical improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
