Client Accountant

About the role

RSM Malta is looking for a Client Accountant to provide high‑quality financial support to a diverse portfolio of local and international corporate clients. The role combines day‑to‑day accounting tasks with client‑facing responsibilities, ensuring accurate reporting and a strong client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for an assigned portfolio of corporate clients, delivering responsive accounting support.
• Prepare periodic and year‑end closing journals, management accounts and statutory financial statements in line with applicable standards.
• Maintain ledgers, process daily transactions, perform bank reconciliations and prepare VAT returns.
• Coordinate with external auditors throughout the annual audit to facilitate timely completion.
• Identify and implement improvements to internal and client accounting systems, procedures and workflows.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant or in the final stages of an ACCA, B.Acc or equivalent qualification.
• 1–3 years of experience in a multi‑client environment or corporate services firm.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Maltese is a strong asset.
• Proactive, able to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
