Client Accountant – Bookkeeping & VAT Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Client Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients for a reputable accounting firm in Malta. You will handle day‑to‑day accounting, bookkeeping, and VAT compliance while developing your technical and client‑management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients and their daily accounting needs.
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and perform accounting entries.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with regulatory requirements.
• Liaise directly with clients on accounting and VAT matters.
• Monitor deadlines to ensure timely delivery of client deliverables.
• Assist with additional accounting and administrative tasks as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or client‑accounting roles.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and VAT requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time‑management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
