Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

About the role

The CTO oversees technology and technology teams across all of Catena Media’s portfolio segments, ensuring alignment between the company’s technological vision and its business goals. The CTO is the executor and visionary force behind the technical solution underlying Catena Media’s offering and owns all architectural decisions. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CTO is a member of the executive team.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the overarching technology and data strategy and vision.
• Partner with the leadership team to communicate technological opportunities and their business impact.
• Lead the creation of a cohesive roadmap covering IT governance, operating model, tech stack, infrastructure and architecture.
• Approve investment plans and priorities for each technology team, ensuring alignment with strategy.
• Promote simplicity and agility through best‑in‑class development practices such as continuous integration and automated deployment.
• Coach teams to solve complex technical problems and adopt future‑ready architectural designs.
• Champion technology across the business and act as a change agent during the transition to a product‑based, agile, squad‑led model.
• Evaluate new technologies, balance buy‑vs‑build decisions and ensure standardisation of developer tools, services and infrastructure.
• Manage overall technology budgets and participate in the Catena Media Tech Committee.

Required profile

• Domain expertise in technology and data.
• Proven experience managing a mid‑sized global tech organisation.
• Strong understanding of product and project management and their interaction with technology.
• Seasoned technical leader with deep insight into the latest trends in affiliate or digital marketing.
• Strategic and commercial acumen to translate technology decisions into business outcomes.
• Curious, future‑oriented mindset with a passion for exploring new solutions.
