Banknote Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

As a Banknote Supplier Quality Engineer you will ensure that outsourced banknote and substrate manufacturing meets Crane Currency’s high quality standards and customer requirements. You will act as the primary quality liaison between Crane Currency and its external partners, supporting both Supply Chain and Sales teams.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in bid, quotation and contract management to define clear customer quality expectations.
• Transfer product and quality requirements accurately to external partners.
• Coordinate with Crane Operations and cross‑functional teams to support outsourced production.
• Plan and conduct quality approvals and audits at partner manufacturing sites.
• Drive root‑cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using tools such as 8D, 5‑Why, DMAIC, PFMEA, MSA and control plans.
• Monitor supplier performance and product conformity to defined standards.
• Escalate quality or risk concerns through appropriate leadership channels.
• Promote collaborative relationships with internal teams, partner sites and other Crane locations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in manufacturing or quality management.
• Strong understanding of quality engineering disciplines, statistical methods and measurement systems.
• Experience working in global, cross‑cultural, multi‑site environments.
• Excellent communication, documentation and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel globally, sometimes for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Use of structured quality tools: 8D, 5‑Why, DMAIC, PFMEA, MSA, control plans.
