Associate Client Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Client Accountant to join our Malta office. You will manage a portfolio of international clients, ensuring that accounting, VAT, income tax, and payroll deliverables are completed accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of a client portfolio and deliver all accounting-related tasks on schedule.
• Maintain bookkeeping records, prepare management accounts and year‑end files for international clients.
• Prepare and file Maltese VAT, payroll and income‑tax statutory requirements.
• Anticipate and monitor client and regulatory deadlines, liaising with clients to gather information.
• Coordinate with senior accounting staff, tax advisors and auditors to ensure smooth information flow.
• Support continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems and internal workflows.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in a CSP, accounting firm or a similar accounting role.
• Client‑facing experience in an international professional environment.
• Mid‑way through ACCA or an equivalent accounting qualification.
• Working knowledge of Maltese VAT and income‑tax compliance.
• Strong organisational skills, accuracy and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software, preferably Xero.
• Good knowledge of accounting, finance, reconciliations, management accounts and year‑end preparation.
