Assistant Refrigeration Technician (Cruise Ship)

About the role

Explora Journeys is launching a new luxury cruise brand and is looking for an Assistant Refrigeration Technician to support the Chief Refrigeration Technician on board. This position provides hands‑on training and a clear pathway to become a fully qualified refrigeration technician while working in a premium hospitality environment at sea.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the Chief Refrigeration Technician’s instructions for maintaining refrigeration equipment.
• Assist with the maintenance of hotel machinery and air‑conditioning systems as needed.
• Adhere to company standards, minimise material waste and comply with all injury‑prevention rules.
• Keep the A.C. workshop, rooms and tools clean and organised.

Required profile

• Intermediate oral and written English.
• Previous experience in a similar role on a luxury/premium cruise ship or related field, with willingness to train.
• High school graduate with any licences required by the company.
• Ability to lift or move up to 25 kg and meet specific vision requirements (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception).
• Physically capable of participating in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills.
