Accountant – Malta

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to join our Malta team, supporting monthly and annual closings for our gaming operations. You will work closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual accounting closings for Maltese legal entities.
• Record daily transactions, including purchase invoices, sales invoices and banking movements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, monitor balances and resolve discrepancies.
• Book complex journal entries such as accruals, pre‑payments, cut‑off adjustments, capex and related depreciation.
• Maintain accurate analytical accounting and support account justification documentation.
• Liaise with external auditors during annual audits.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts.
• Assist with tax compliance and preparation of related obligations.
• Support cash‑forecast analysis and payment processing.
• Communicate effectively with the Maltese accounting team and contribute to continuous process improvement and internal controls.
• Help optimise the ERP system.

Required profile

• Accounting qualification (or in the final stages of studies) with at least 3 years of experience in accounting, finance or audit.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and VAT regulations.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, stay well‑organized and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience handling routine and moderately complex accounting transactions, including accruals, pre‑payments and cut‑off entries.
• Proactive mindset with a willingness to challenge and improve existing processes.
• Collaborative team player with clear communication skills.
• Experience in the gaming industry is a plus.
