IT Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an IT Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Barcelona or Malta. You will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and overseeing the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless performance for all users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain desktops, peripherals, operating systems, and applications following change‑management and security best practices.
• Proactively plan, tune, troubleshoot, and monitor networks, servers, workstations, printers, and cloud services to minimise downtime.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across platforms and applications.
• Implement and oversee system backups, disaster‑recovery, and business‑continuity processes.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, data‑privacy regulations, and industry standards.
• Maintain an accurate IT asset register for hardware, software, and licensing.
• Use the internal ticketing system to track, prioritize, and resolve support requests.
• Collaborate with third‑party contractors to guarantee reliable operation of software and systems.
• Provide end‑user orientation, training, and first‑line support.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience administering systems, networks, and cloud providers.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant IT field.
• Industry certifications such as ITIL and vendor‑specific cloud, network, or hardware credentials.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and mobile operating systems.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud provisioning, identity management, and integrations.
