Heavy Vehicle & Plant Mechanic

About the role

A full-time Heavy Vehicle & Plant Mechanic is sought in Malta to inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain a wide range of vehicles and heavy machinery. The role covers trucks, vans, dumpers, excavators, cranes, loaders and other construction and earthmoving equipment, including routine maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine faults.

Key responsibilities

• Repair trucks, excavators, cranes, dumpers, loaders and similar heavy equipment
• Use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
• Read technical manuals and follow repair procedures
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine faults

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience repairing and maintaining commercial vehicles and heavy construction machinery
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's licence (heavy vehicle licence is an advantage)

Required skills

• Diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions and electrical systems
• Diagnostics and use of diagnostic tools
