Maintenance Technician – Retail & Facilities

About the role

As a Maintenance Technician for daves Food Stores, you will ensure that all retail locations, warehouses, factories, and the head office remain safe, efficient, and fully operational. You will handle both planned and emergency maintenance, supporting the company’s growth across Malta.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and emergency maintenance across all company sites.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, refrigeration, and HVAC faults.
• Service air‑conditioning, refrigeration, and other HVAC systems.
• Install and modify water and electrical trunking as needed.
• Perform general carpentry, painting, and building‑maintenance tasks.
• Install, maintain, and repair store fixtures and technical equipment.
• Assist with the setup of new stores to ensure full operational readiness.
• Conduct regular inspections to prevent equipment failures.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, repairs, and materials.
• Manage spare‑parts, tools, and inventory efficiently.
• Report hazards, major repairs, and operational risks to management.
• Support renovation, refurbishment, and facility‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Electrical License B certification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or mechanical repair.
• Experience in retail, commercial, or facilities maintenance is an asset.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond to emergencies.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
